Last night wasn’t the best nights sleep. The spot I’ve found to camp isn’t exactly a designated campground so due to the possibility of having someone knock on my door & ask me to move on, or the lesser risk of getting murdered, I wore pyjamas to bed which isn’t conducive to a good nights sleep for me 🤪
Anywhooooo, neither of those things happened & we woke fully alive to a beautiful morning.
Incense was burnt & a walk along the river soaking up the morning sun with coffee in hand was had before heading off for the day.
I lobbed on my friend Anna’s doorstep at about 8am & we had breakfast together complete with much chitchat, laughter & catching up before heading out to setup her new massage room. (If you’re in the Albury Wodonga region VidaFlo is your girl)
From there we headed down to the river with Hazel & Anna’s 2 dogs (Minnie & Bindy). Went for a walk, stood in awe of the beautiful big trees along the riverbank & went for a cold plunge in the river. Absolutely fucking freezing but so bloody invigorating & I’m pleased Anna was having none of my excuses not to do it. (Check out how red Anna’s fingers are in the third pic 😳😆)
On the way back, whilst crossing the creek crossing bridge that was ankle deep under water, Miss Hazel discovered she CAN actually swim (despite hating it) by veering off the bridge not only once, but twice, & landing in the drink 😳🤪😂 It was borderline kharmatic as she’d previously rolled in duck shit so this was her bath 😆
I’d booked myself in for one of Anna’s lymphatic massages & it was bloody amazing. Hazel was laying in there with me & every time Anna hit a tender spot, my breathing would change & Hazel would be on alert, keeping an eagle eye on her. Shes such a gentle soul but there’s no doubt in my mind she’s a strong protector.
After enjoying the most glorious steamy hot shower, complete with hair wash, I popped into the supermarket & them headed back out to the same secret camp spot as last night to await the arrival of my Uncle (coming down from Canberra) & son (heading up from Melbourne) who will camp with me for 2 nights.
Uncle Dean rocked up at about 5.30 & we went for a sunset walk & had dinner before Hunter rolled in around 8. A quick catch up & cup of tea before hitting our respective vans to try & get a good nights sleep because we have plans to join Anna’s breath & cold plunge crew at 7am in the morning 🥶 Suckers for punishment 😆
So stoked to have a weekend of adventure with my family 🧡 My heart is HAPPY!!
