‘West to East Adventure 2024’ - Bunbury to Munglinup

Kylea Harvey

And we’re off!!!!

Getting organised for this trip has felt so easy. Maybe because Hazel & I have become seasoned travellers & have our routine down pat (The only difference this time is instead of going away for a few days, we’re going for a few weeks) or maybe I’ll realise I’ve forgotten something at some stage & this smug look will be wiped off my face 😂

We made our way to Munglinup via Arthur River (where I grabbed my first of probably many Maxibons - my road trip kryptonite) & Lake King (where we stopped for lunch - egg, lettuce, cheese, mayo & silverside)

After some pretty shit weather lately, we’ve been blessed with beautiful blue skies & a great drive taking us past stunning expanses of canola fields, salt lake country & ending in a not so pretty mining area.

Hazel travels like an absolute boss and truly LOVES the bus. She rides shot gun and spends most of the time snoozing which leaves me busting out the coaster karaoke solo.

We’re camped up for the night at the free RV area near the Munglinup Roadhouse, getting here early enough to enjoy a sunshiney walk around the tiny town & a run around the sports oval to burn off some energy.

A quick dinner of chilli con carne & some crochet is on the cards for tonight before settling in for an early night.

Tomorrow we will hit the Nullabor!!! Catch you there.
