‘West to East Adventure 2024’ - Day trip to Yackandandah.

Today has been freaking AWESOME!!

Having our 3 vans sleep together last night made my heart sing.

Up bright & early, we headed to the river for some breathwork & a cold dip with Anna & her friend. I’m so freaking proud of Hunter for not only embracing the breathwork but also stripping down to his jocks & joining us in the river (which was FUCKING COLD!!!) There was no pressure or expectation, only an invitation, encouragement & celebration.

Such an epic way to start the day & to share it with the boys was next level AWESOME!!!

Shared breakfast, warm up pats for Hazel & a walk before heading off on the days next adventure.

We crossed the border between New South Wales & Victoria so many times today I felt like a full time drug mule & had no idea which state we were in half the time 😆

We made our way up to Yackandandah (a cool little town heading up the mountain) to have some lunch & wander around town, perusing the shops & galleries.

Lunch was had at the bakery. The holiday Hedgehog slice was almost redeemed after Renmarks soft icing but just missed the mark with way too much coconut on its bottom 🤪. (Still better than Renmark)

We had to take a look in the Sluga Gallery for no other reason than the sign said “Dogs are welcome to bring humans into the gallery” So cool how many places allow dogs inside 🐾 🤎

A favourite shop was ‘Feather & Drum’, a cool shop selling handmade felt hats, & we had a lovely long chat with the lady looking after the shop. Hazel waiting patiently outside this one.

Next stop was Hume Dam. Absolutely massive & the force of the water was pure power. Some poor little human must’ve lost a doll & I kinda wanted to bring her home but left her there just in case they came back for her.

Next activity on the ‘choose our own adventure’ day was a trip into Albury to visit Stone Age Records (Hazel was welcomed inside) & I walked out with Gerry Rafferty & Don McLean to add to my collection of hardly ever listened to vinyls 😆

Hunter & I played a game of cards in the park while Uncle Dean had a little rest in his van. I don’t want to brag (actually that’s bullshit… I absolutely want to brag 😆) but I kicked arse.

The boys then headed off to the pub to watch the footy while Hazel & I chilled in the bus for a bit. Hazel is absolutely rooted (She was borderline falling asleep sitting up in the corner at the record shop) so once she hit Beryls couch… she was snoring within seconds 😂

Pizza for dinner & off to bed with the decision made to go for another cold dip tomorrow.

Todays tunes of choice has been Kylea’s Chilled AF Mix (which might be questionable in the chilled department but it’s my kinda chill) and our campsite tonight is cheekily positioned right alongside a ‘No camping’ sign. 🤪😆
