Beryl’s spent a day at Peter May Autos and is all lubed, oil changed and ready to rock n roll. The ole girls not the prettiest (on the outside) and may be a tiny bit leaky 🤪 but she hasn't let me down yet & technically still has another half a million km’s in her.
I’ve been given some tyre changing lessons & have a borrowed rattle gun on board. An emergency kit of fuses, belts & radiator hoses is packed (even though I’ll still be relying on some serious eye lash batting to utilise any of those) and I feel so much more prepared & ‘safe’ than I did when I took off last year. Ignorance really is bliss but it won’t help you change a tyre 😆
I’ve finally got myself a membership to the cordless tool club. (It’s been on my to do list for 4 years now 🤪) I tested out the tyre inflator on my, been flat forever, bike tyres & it worked a treat. I do however need to hand in my housewife card coz I literally needed to read the instructions to empty the vacuum 🙄 Turns out it was easy 😆. And after discovering a spare cigarette lighter outlet under the bed when cleaning, the 12v charger will come in handy while travelling. Anyone got any suggestions as to what else I might need while on the road?
I’ve also bought myself a telescopic ladder so I can get my starlink up on the roof instead of having it on the ground. (Always a risk of getting run over & more obstructions down there) And whilst I’ve joked about falling off said ladder, it definitely feels safer than balancing on the bed, hanging out the back door at precarious angles to get to the roof as I’ve done in the past.
All that’s left to do now is pack some clothes, throw some food in the fridge, fill my water Jerry’s & pack my office.
5 sleeps till we hit the road…. So excited!
