‘West to East Adventure 2024’ - Taylor’s Maze to Madura Pass

So either I’ve been sleeping on the wrong side of the bed this whole time or there’s some crazy unexplainable sleeping pill magic in my pretty new flannelette sheets, but last night was another ‘best nights sleep’!!!

After yesterdays disappointing overcast sunrise we were gifted to this absolute gem of a misty view this morning 🧡

Despite having a cruisy morning of walks, exercise routine, coffee & pack up we were on the road by 7am. It was only a short 245km drive today as I still needed to get some work finished & had plans to meet up with an Insta friend in Eucla tomorrow. Turns out I had my days wrong & that’s not going to happen, which I’m bummed about but hopefully the servo gods will shine on us & we’ll cross paths at a fuel pump somewhere.

Caiguna aka ‘Hub of the universe’ was a mixed bag of awesome & disappointment.

Awesome being the fuel price being $1.78 instead of the $2.36 I’d noted off the Petrol spy app. That saved me nearly $40 which is at least 6 Maxibons. Speaking of Maxibons…. Enter Caigunas disappointment… NO MAXIBONS!!!

I nearly cheated & bought a magnum equivalent but that’s like substituting a Pepsi for coke & Im not down for that. (Not that I drink Pepsi or coke but I’m sure you get my drift)

Todays Coaster Karaoke was brought to us by Kylea’s Oldies but Goodies playlist. Banging out the classics had me wondering why I don’t listen to it more often 🤷🏻‍♀️ But when I do, I always think of my Uncle Dean who instilled my love of ‘good music’.

Madura Pass is stunning & the photos don’t do it justice. Perched on an escarpment overlooking an expanse of land in all its glorious nothingness. It’s bloody breathtaking!!!

Miss Hazel kept half an eye on me while I got the rest of this weeks work done. It feels good to be able to put the laptop away until the weekend now.

We’ve had a little arvo walk as the sun starts setting. Not many wildflowers but I still appreciate the ones that made an effort to bloom.

A number of caravans have arrived this arvo but we’re fairly secluded in our spot. Probably not secluded enough for my outdoor naked shower, plus it’s a bit breezy.

Tonight on the menu is eye fillet steak with burnt butter broccolini asparagus & mushrooms. I may be sh#tting in a portapotty but I’m still fancy as f#ck 😂

Hoping the wind settles down instead of picks up tonight otherwise my smug little ‘best nights sleep’ arse might be eating humble pie tomorrow 🤪

Stay tuned!!
